Cheltenham Town Hall Wedding Photography

Katy and James

I get excited about all weddings I photograph, they are all different, whether the Location, the people or the unknown that may happen on the day. When I was booked to photograph this wedding I was virtually school boy excited as they had something arranged for the day that 1. I wanted for my wedding and 2. something I have always loved from when I lived in London many moons ago! A big red Routemaster London bus. My day, like most of my weddings starts with documenting the bride in the morning, today was with Katy getting ready with her mum, dad and bridesmaid and of course the lovely hair and make-up artist. This morning was a gorgeous sunny day and in between grabbing those candid moments of getting ready it was time to freeze frame pictures of the wedding dress, shoes, sentimental items and not forgetting the flowers. One of the most enjoyable moments is the moment the mum helps the daughter into her dress and the point that the proud father gets the first glimpse of his beautiful daughter ready for the day ahead. It was time to head over to todays venue the Cheltenham Town Hall, a beautiful location with features any photograph would be happy to share. The Groom looking dapper was greeting family and guests with his wing man anticipating the nervous moment to stand up front waiting for the music to start and his wife to glide down the aisle with her father. With the sealed kiss, couple of signatures and happy cheers it was time to gather the friends and family and head out in to the sunshine.

The group photos finalised it was time to get the intimate and romantic couple photographs, so we headed off into the Town Hall with its gorgeous edwardian features. As time was of the essence we captured happy memories and waited for the surprise ride for the guests. I will never forget seeing the excitement on Katy’s and James’ face as the bus pulled up. So with a little trip around Cheltenham on the glorious Routemaster it was time to drop everyone off at the secret venue for the next stage of the day. The red carpet laid out, the Queens Hotel made everyone welcome and Katy and James were greeted with a much needed glass of Champagne. With everyone taking their places inside it left us a little more time to make the most of the bus for a few more intimate shots, I wasn’t going to argue, just jealous i didn’t get to sit in the drivers seat!

As the bell dings twice the bus pulls away and it’s time to welcome Mr and Mrs Mclean in to the room. It’s now when you catch the most animated and emotional photographs as the family and guests listen on to the speeches from Dad, Groom and of course the Best Man, oh and not forgetting the laughter pics. It’s not always the case but the best man did good and had enough laughs and smiles to carry through to the adoring smiles left for the first dance. Before the jazz singer belted out the songs, we snatched ourselves a few more couple shots in the beautiful interior of the Queens Hotel. As the first dance was nailed and everyone joined in for the shoe shuffling it was time to pack away the camera, this was yet another incredible wedding. A big congratulations to Katy and James.

I fell in love with Noel’s pictures and booked him without the Groom even meeting him as they were exactly what we wanted – natural, different and beautiful! We are thrilled with our pictures, not only are they beautiful and really clever but Noel captured all the elements of the day that we loved so much. We love the fun and creative ones as well as the more formal shots and the candid snaps are fab too. The pics come beautifully presented with special touches, the processed images are so gorgeous and different to anyone else’s pictures that we’ve seen, and even the Raw images are wonderful. Our guests commented on how Noel seemed to manage to be everywhere taking pictures yet wasn’t obtrusive. Can’t recommend him enough.

Katy Mclean

Noel I just wanted to thank you for such a wonderful presentation of Katy & James Wedding. Jake & I are both thrilled with the pictures and have looked at them ALL daily since we first saw them. I love them all and I am finding it very difficult to choose favorites to have printed. Thank you again for such a wonderful job and capturing the happiness of the day in such a special way. Pictures we will treasure forever. Thank you.
