Upcote Barn Wedding Photography – Rebecca and Luke

The Barn at Upcote  – Rebecca and Luke

Cotswold wedding photography at Upcote Barn, Withington, Cheltenham, Gloucestershire.

Rebecca and Luke were married at the stunning Barn at Upcote in Withington, Cheltenham, on what looked like what was going to be a dreary day, weather wise! I had had a bad run of luck at Upcote with rain on my last few visits and I was determined to have a Upcote Wedding with dry weather, I was desperate to be able to show what I can do here in better conditions and use all the amazing parts of this venue, and there are so many beautiful spots, you really are spoilt for choice.

I instantly warmed to Luke and Rebecca, we had met previously near Christmas as they had come over from Canada as were living there at the time, they were such lovely, kind friendly people and clearly had a sense of adventure and fun, which you would see on their wedding day.

The girls started their early prep down the road and then came to the bridal suite at Upcote for the final hair and make-up done by the lovely Maddy of Wedding Paint and of course the dress going on show. The Guys also arrived pretty much ready, suited and booted and just needing the final tweaks of the awaiting button holes. These were pinned once they had finished the final touches of the barns. The floristry was done by the amazing Kate at Camomile and Cornflower Flowers and I could of photographed her work all day on the picturesque background of Upcote. The bridesmaids were in gorgeous sage green dresses and waited for Rebecca to reveal her elegant and quite sensational dress, she looked absolutely stunning, it was no wonder Luke was looking a little nervous and emotional before she arrived with her dad at the aisle.

After the ceremony it was all outside for celebrations to start, the weather had turned in to a glorious day and yet again my nerdy photography brain was in awe of the sky and clouds as you will see in the group photo and portraits up by the tree and lane leading down to the barn. Talking of which we headed over to the gardens for more portraits, if you haven’t seen them, then you will be blown away, as they are incredible and the shots you can get round the large pond is worth every minute spent there.

The speeches were… as always funny and full of admiration for both bride and groom and their lovely family and friends, and of course the usual groom bashing by the best men! The evening was the icing on the cake, the weather just got better and better so we headed over to the adjacent fields for the last few portraits as the sun came down, the silhouette shots are some of my favourites in a long time! The first dance followed the sunset with one of the best bands I have seen in a long time too, they were The Thumping Tommys a Folk/Bluegrass/Americana band from London and were thoroughly entertaining.

The whole day was just perfect from the start to finish, and the final treat was the Canadian delicacy Poutine, sadly I left before it was ready but it looked delicious and what more would you want at that time of the day than chips, gravy and cheese or s’mores? Unless you are talking shots, then I guess it was tequilas!

I would like to wish Rebecca and Luke the very best for their future together and for giving me the opportunity to be part of their special day!

“Thank you so much they’re amazing!  You’ve captured everyone’s personalities and the feel of the day so well. We love them 🙂

Thank you so much for capturing our special day! The photos are perfect and capture the story of our day in a natural yet beautiful way, we will cherish them for years to come.

Thank you for being such a calm presence on the day, you made us feel at ease and I think this shows in the shots captured!”
