City Rooms Hotel Wedding – Leicester

Barry and Alice.

Being based in the heart of the Cotswolds the majority of weddings I capture are in the countryside with rolling fields, woodlands and quaint churches or barns. The McGrath’s to be had chosen a Christmas wedding in the heart of Leicester city, Barry’s home town. So with a switch of scenery from countryside to cityscape it was a early drive to two beautiful venues,  one being the gorgeous St Margaret’s Church just a few minutes walk away from the  city centre. As the wedding date was the 28th of December the church was still decked out with christmas lights and candles making some truly beautiful ‘Bokeh’ images. It was a full house with family from across the channel (France and Belgium) and friends from all over the country. With a beautiful ceremony complete it was time to head out in to the winter sunshine, for the well wishes, confetti pelting and couple shots.  After the guests made their way to the reception venue, The City Rooms Hotel we continue to capture some photographs around the church and down to the Canal. There just so happened to be a flock of Swans, the birds that also symbolise love… how appropriate! With the sun setting it was time to join the guests for fine food, drink and dancing. The father of the bride, groom and best mens speeches set off the usual tears and laughs  and all that was left to capture was the cutting of the cake and the anticipated stir with the ladies waiting to wrestle over the airborne bouquet. Now its back to the countryside to prepare for a busy 2014. Click images to view in lightbox.
