Stone Barn Wedding Photography

Felicity and Darren

Stone Barn, Near Northleach Wedding Photography

I first met Felicity and Darren at a Pre-shoot/engagement session at Woodchester Mansion, they brought their gorgeous dog ‘Brecons’ along and we took a stroll around the grounds for a catch-up and a chat about the big whilst snapping some nice natural photographs. You can see the pre-shoot images here

The wedding day itself was an amazing day, as with all weddings when you wake up in the morning you look out the window and pray the weather is going to be kind. Some days you settle for just ‘no rain’ and other days you just know the weather is going to be a game changer. We started off at Cats Abbey, a stone throw away from Stone Barn. The place had grown since I was last there and was looking even more fabulous than then. I nice new big open plan kitchen with lots of natural light in the second part of the building and of course the bedroom upstairs is just gorgeous for photos of the Bride and dress and getting ready shenanigans.

The Gents were getting ready in the barn side of the venue and as soon as they were all donning their suits and best lady was in her dress, we headed out in to the sunshine to witness a photographers idea of weather heaven, blue skies and fluffy white clouds and of course the rolling fields are a nice addition to the photos.

With the ceremony time getting closer it was time to head over to Stone Barn, I love this venue as i have probably mentioned in previous blogs about weddings here, it has loads of natural light, and the mezzanine floor is great to get an overall view, the grounds are amazing and in the summer the fields provide you with the most beautiful backdrops. The lane that leads in and out of the barn have given me some of my most favourite images especially an hour before sunset and durning sunset, as you will see below.

As Cotswold wedding photography goes this Stone Barn wedding I absolutely love, the summer provided such beautiful colours and the barn looked perfect dressed with all the amazing things chosen by the Bride and Groom. The Corrugated part of the Barn always looks magical with the fairy lights in the background and is a great contrast against the wedding dress and smart suits. The stone barn is an amazing canvas for the ceremony and also the first dance, as well as the shape throwing moves later. But if i’m honest I think it’s hard to beat those sunset shots, they couldn’t get anymore romantic could they?

Both Darren and Felicity looked amazing and it was an amazing day, I am very grateful they wanted to go out during the last few moments of the sunshine and not to mention venturing out in to the fields also.  To top off the amazing day of photographs, one of the photographs taken on the lane was spotted and shared by Trivago on instagram, nothing like a little ego nudge!
