Jenners Barn – Fairford Wedding Photography

Addison and Laura

Cotswold Wedding Photography

Almost a year to the day I photographed Addison’s dad’s wedding (Quentin and Liz Tailford) so when I was asked to photograph Addison and Laura’s big day I felt very honoured to be part of their families special occasions again. I met up with Addison and Laura in the typically beautiful Cotswold village of Fairford, probably more famous for the Air Tattoo for their pre-wedding/engagement shoot. I instantly knew that this was going to be an incredible wedding, as every location from the house for the getting ready in the morning, to St Mary’s church for the ceremony to the final destination of the day at Jenners Barn. All 3 venues just itching to be photographed with the gorgeous couple in.

As with most weddings my day started with the bride and her entourage of hair and make-up artists, bridesmaids and family. This is such a perfect time capture a hugely worthwhile moment as one lucky man gets to see the bride in her amazing dress before her husband-to-be takes her hand, the father of the bride. These photos are always so special and emotional as any dad would know it’s time to admit shes’s finally no longer his little girl. The excitement on the bridesmaids and families faces say it all. With the dress paraded, smiles and tears of joy it’s time for a dash the church, time to see the nervous and rather sun baked groom on this gloriously sunny summer day. Hot was an understatement! With the guests packed in the pews waiting for the arrival of the bride it wasn’t long before she graced everyone as she glided happily down the aisle with her father, and Addsion looking on in adoration. With a the usual cheers, ‘I do’s’ it was time to head back out in to the sun. As the congratulations embraced, cheek kissed and back patted it was time to line up for the customary confetti pelting. With a few flinches, ducks and laughs we sent the guests off to Jenners Barn for a well earned cool refreshment and for us to head down to the river for a few couple photographs. It is so picturesque down by the river with the church in the background, and not to mention the beautiful surroundings.

As we slowly cooked in the summer sun it was time to head back through the church yard for a few final images before desperately diving into air conditional cars to cool off before heading to the barn. With the guests huddled at the barn doors waiting for the new Mr and Mrs Tailford the couple were greeted with a big warm, very warm welcome. The barn was cool in more ways than one, the amazing cake, the decor, the flowers… the sunflowers everywhere and the beautifully decked out marquee. The venue was just perfect for all the things to come, such as the fish and chips served from the best looking fish and chip van I have ever seen, followed by speeches, of which the best men absolutely nailed, with the guests in fits of laughter, me included. The laughs didn’t end here, as the announcement of the honeymoon to Laura was about to be exposed in ‘Lion King’ style. The guests donned their masks as Rafiki shows Simba with the  honeymoon envelope to Laura, inside the details to their trip to Zanzibar for a safari. Could this day get any better?

Actually yes it could with the vintage Bedford ice-cream van sat outside full of the most incredible tasting Winstons ice-cream from the Cotswolds. What a way to cool you down and cleanse the palette ready for a cake cut and the first dance. The day couldn’t of gone any better and was just perfect, one I was very glad to be part of and grateful to document. Yet another wedding that will be hard to forget. A huge congratulation to Addison and Laura on their perfect day.
