Stone Barn – Ariane and Liam
Cotswold wedding photography at the Cripps & Co Stone Barn, Upper Windrush, Gloucestershire.
Ariane and Liam’s wedding day started at The Wheatsheaf in Northleach a typically beautiful Cotswold pub and hotel. An ideal location as only a short distance to Stone Barn.
Ariane and Liam both prepared for the day here, in separate locations I must add. Ariane with her bridemaids being well taken care of, by Charlotte and Nica from The Annexx Hair , no guess for what they were doing, and for the other beauty touches was the talented Keeley Wilson MUA. Preparations were in a cosy room downstairs full of antique charm, big paintings and graced with a few bottles of Champagne. The guys were busy getting ready upstairs in the stunning hotel rooms, the usual showering, ironing shirts, locating missing items, to find they are at the bottom of bags they first looked in. The stunning flowers and button holes had not long arrived, all the beautiful and fantastic work by Ellie Frances Flowers , stunning floristry of which I will let the photos speak for itself. It wasn’t long before Liam and all the groomsmen were outside donning their dapper tailored navy suits from Edit Suits Co, for a scrambled gathering of button hole pinning, champagne toasts, and a few snaps before jumping in the awaiting chariots.
Ariane headed up to her room with her bridemaids to put on their dresses, Ariane’s dress was absolutely stunning, a dress by Jane Hill supplied by Halo & Wren Bridal . Shoes slipped on, jewellery fastened and the final touches completed. Ariane and the girl’s in their blush bridesmaid dresses ( I hope I have that colour correct! ) were ready to be chauffeured to the ceremony.
Stone Barn has a gorgeous road leading up to it, with farm fields all around, very picturesque and fantastic for photos especially if the weather is good. Ariane arrived to a crowded barn full of family and friends. As you arrive you are greeted by the arched black rustic corrugated barn ( i love this), which full of fairy lights sparkles a beautiful starlit lit passage to the stone barn where the vows are sealed. Liam awaited a little nervously with his bestman who was doing his best to relax him, a man that will be in the same situation a few hours later pacing the grounds going over his best-man speech. The Stone Barn is beautiful and hanging central to the room is a stunning floral wheel/circle. The ceremony is completed, the I Do’s are sealed and the celebrations begin, but not before the dousing of confetti, which is always a firm favourite of guests and myself! With the formalities done, everyone heads outside to soak up some sun and enjoy the stunning views.
As all guests are called in for the wedding breakfast to begin, the food is served, which always looks and tastes incredible. Speeches are nailed, including the best-mans after his step count reached an all time high from rehearsing his speech outside, and with a standing… and sitting ovation it was followed by a relived drink, just a necked bottle of wine! This pretty much kicked on the party mode, the dance floor was rammed and I’m not surprised with the fabulous Cotswold DJ I.am.Will and his amazing set-up, don’t take my word for it check out the images below… WOW! Ariane and Liam absolutely smashed their first dance, quite possibly one of my all time favourite photos for first dances. The dance floor pretty much stayed rammed for as long as I was there. I managed to drag out Ariane and Liam for some fresh air and to catch the sunset in those gorgeous fields I mentioned earlier, they are priceless on days like this, the sun sets in the perfect place allowing you a great end to the day photographically. I am sure there were a few sore heads the following day but totally worth it, an incredible day from start to finish, at a stunning venue and location with the most fabulous couple all topped off with a great bunch of family and friends.
“Omg thank you so much for sending these through! They’re absolutely stunning – it’s so magical re-living the day and you’ve really managed to capture the whole energy of it.” – Ariane & Liam
